In addition to GP consultations the practice a comprehensive range of clinics and healthcare services:

Health Promotion Clinics

(Appointment only Monday and Tuesday)

Other Clinics & Services

Ante Natal Care - appointment only Friday 09:30 – 12:30. This is in conjunction with the community midwife.

Well Woman Clinic - appointment only Monday and Tuesday. This service is open to all women and includes cervical smear, breast examination and family planning done by the practice nurse or doctor.

Child Health & Immunisations - by appointment. Our immunisation nurse  along with Dr Henderson provide a childhood immunisation and child health service within current guidelines.   

Minor Surgery/Joint Injections - appointment only. These procedures are performed by Dr McBride. He will discuss the procedure with the patient at a separate appointment.  Please inform reception when making an appointment to allow the appropriate time to be booked for your appointment.  This clinic is not available on a Thursday afternoon.

Speech Therapy - appointment only in conjunction with Speech Therapy dept

Dietician - appointment only in conjunction with Dietetic dept.

Treatment Room

The treatment room nurse is available every day for taking blood samples, travel vaccines and advice, blood pressure checks, health promotion advice and minor injuries.

Please note that the treatment room is by appointment only. 

Unfortunately we do not have the capacity to carry out bloods etc ordered by the Hospital, there is a Phlebotomy Clinic at Causeway Hospital where you can arrange for your bloods etc.

Our treatment room is extremely busy and routine appointments are limited. You should schedule an appointment in advance whenever possible.

Travel Vaccinations

If you are planning foreign travel you may need vaccinations. According to which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting will determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make this initial contact with the surgery as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as an appointment will be required with the nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. The receptionist will be able to provide you with a travel form for you to complete for the doctor. The doctor will then prepare travel advice and prescriptions as necessary according to the information you have provided on the form. There will be a £15.00 fee for the administration and processing of this form.

 These vaccines may have to be ordered by the local pharmacy so allow time for this. You will need to make an appointment in advance for the nurse tohave your vaccinations administered. Your vaccinations should be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow them to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge.This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

Non-NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

• Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
• Insurance claim forms
• Passport signing
• Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
• Private sick notes
• Vaccination certificates

These  non-NHS services are in addition to the day to day services carried out by the practice.

For the completion of insurance forms, passport signing etc please allow at least 2 working days.

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
